Hi-Lo Readers Want a Good Story

Hi-Lo readers are the toughest audience because they will often give up on a book after the first page. If it doesn’t grab them, they are done! 

Hi-Lo readers want a good story, but don’t want or need all the extra fluff. They want a story that gets to the point, but still doesn’t fall into the habit of making obvious or hokey points. Hi-Lo readers want to feel challenged by the plot, but not have to endure lengthy side descriptions that may or may not eventually come into play.

Hi-Lo readers are the toughest audience because they will often give up on a book after the first page. If it doesn’t grab them, they are done!  And grabbing them does not only mean it has to be easy to read. It means it has to be easy to read and interesting. They want a good story, just like all other readers.
